Increasing Part Geometric Accuracy in High Speed Machining using Cascade Iterative Learning Control

چکیده
High speed machining provides high productivity and low cycle times. Post machining, there can exist differences between desired measured part geometry due to tool deflection induced from higher feedrates. Reducing the feedrate leads an increase in time. Using predicted drive responses on a virtual CNC with integrated surface location error model, this research is first time Iterative Learning Control (ILC) has been applied reduce errors deflection. Validation trials demonstrated that ILC scheme improved performance whilst maintaining times when compared baseline program.

Processing Optimization of High Speed Machining in Numerical Control Manufacturing
High cost and low efficiency problem has been bothering NC teaching. To lower the cost of practical teaching of higher speed numerical control manufacturing along with improvement in processing efficiency, a multi-objective scheme for optimization of process parameters has been developed here. Various constraint conditions were set and a complex algorithm was employed for optimization. To achiev...
متن کاملIncreasing Time-Efficiency and Accuracy of Robotic Machining Processes Using Model-Based Adaptive Force Control
Machining processes in the industry of today are rarely performed using industrial robots. In the cases where robots are used, machining is often performed using position control with a conservative feed-rate, to avoid excessive process forces. There is a great benefit in controlling the process forces instead, so as to improve the time-efficiency by applying the maximum allowed force, and thus...
متن کاملControl of a High Speed Machining Spindle via μ-Synthesis
Due to high surface speed and active control capabilities, active magnetic bearings hold great promise for high speed machining spindles. Herein, the control problem posed by this application is examined and the development of an advanced prototype is reviewed. A μ synthesis framework is proposed for this problem and it is shown that the minimization of the susceptibility to machining chatter m...
متن کاملDelay Induced Canards in High Speed Machining
We consider here a model from [1] for regenerative chatter in a drilling process. The model is a nonlinear delay differential equation where the delay arises from the fact that the cutting tool passes over the metal surface repeatedly. For any fixed value of the delay, a large enough increase in the width of the chip being cut results in a Hopf bifurcation from the steady state, which is the or...
